About the event
In this webinar, Don will provide an introduction to the only two kinds of metrical line available in English: the four-stress line and iambic pentameter. He'll back up this outrageous claim with examples drawn from everything from Anglo-Saxon poetry to hiphop, via Elizabethan, Romantic and 20th century poetry to show the almost infinite versatility of the two approaches – and demonstrate how we can use both kind of line to vastly increase the dramatic expressivity, memorability and rhythmic insistence of our poetry.
This webinar is open to everyone.
