We are a collective of poets with national and international reputations, committed to running North Sea Poets in an independent, affordable, ethical and accessible way. We are not an ‘organisation’ – just
a group of friends with strong ties to the east coast of Scotland who decided to bring some of their very various activities together under one roof. We do not and will never receive money from public funding bodies.

​​We bring together our considerable experience and expertise as writers, tutors, mentors, critics, editors and publishers to offer masterclasses, seminars, close readings and explorations of and (through our Substack) reflections on the writing life. We will advocate for good practice in the reading and writing of poetry, and do what we can to help other poets towards their full potential as creative and original artists.
